Paris Pleas Out of Felony Cocaine Charge

Paris Hilton was facing some pretty serious charges in connection with her recent arrest for cocaine possession. In fact, the charge was a felony, which would could have resulted in pretty serious jail time. Paris was busted on August 27th with less then a gram of cocaine in her purse.

Instead, it looks like she will once again dodge jail time. She agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors in the state of Las Vegas.

Rather then the felony charge, she plead guilty to drug possession and obstructing a police officer. Both of these offenses are misdemeanors.

This plea allows her to avoid consecutive six month sentences. She instead gets one year on probation, will have to pay $2,000 in fines and attend drug rehab. She must also serve community service, 200 hours. Those 200 hours equate to about 5 weeks. (taheena)
