Carrie Underwood's Husband Traded to Nashville

Carrie Underwood's Husband Traded to Nashville

Looking like their marriage will no longer have to be long-distance – Carrie Underwood's husband Mike Fisher is moving to Nashville.

The “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer hockey-player hubby has been traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators.

"We will both truly miss Ottawa," Underwood said in a statement Thursday. "Mike has been such a big part of the community, and I will never forget how they welcomed me with open arms. We obviously love Nashville, and the teams' decision for him to now play with the Predators is an exciting opportunity for Mike. I support him wherever he plays!"

The newlywed couple is constantly on-the-go, but hopefully this new arrangement will allow them to spend long periods of time together, something they haven’t been able to do much yet.

American Country Awards Winners: Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum And More

American Country Awards Winners: Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum And More

The first ever American Country Awards were held yesterday in Las Vegas. Did anyone catch the show? I’m curious to see whether they’ll become even bigger than the CMA’s!

Carrie Underwood and Lady Antebellum were amongst the big winners last night. Carrie CLEANED UP winning, Artist of the Year, as well as Album of the Year, Female Single of the Year, Touring Headline Package of the Year and Female Music Video of the Year. Lady Antebellum scored for Group of the Year honors, as well as Group Video of the Year, Group Single of the Year. Their singer Hillary Scott joked,
“Don’t be surprised if we don’t show up next year, because we want to go out on top.”

The American Country Awards are entirely based off of fan voting and country star Toby Keith says he loves the idea.
“I railed for years, when I had the energy, against the machine. You got 1,500 people voting and they all have agendas,” said Toby Keith, 49, winner of the Video Visionary of the Year Award. “If you’ve had the biggest year, ticket sales, album sales, radio play and you get shut out at award shows because of agenda stuff, then the fans are like, we don’t understand and it takes credibility away from the organization.”
Did you vote? More importantly, did you tune in?

Four months after tying the knot, Carrie Underwood says being married to Mike Fisher feels a lot like being engaged to him.

Following their romantic honeymoon, Carrie had to let go of her new hubby as he went to play hockey in Canada. “So it was like… ‘See ya, husband,’” she explained.

Underwood continued, “It was very strange. I really don’t feel like I’ve lived married life yet… It’s great. Whatever it is. Whatever this is.”

As for having kids, Carried shared, "We just want to be together and keep it as simple as possible. And I think a baby would just make things so complicated right now." - Hollywood Gossip

people - Carrie Underwood hit Sin City to celebrate her dwindling single days – but there was no sinning for the engaged country singer.

Underwood, 27, and a group of girlfriends took over a VIP table on the LAVO stage for a bachelorette party on Friday. The singer donned a "Bride-to-Be" sash, and the group wore feather boas from LAVO’s bachelorette goody bag while dancing the night away.

"They goofed around," says an onlooker. "[Carrie] did 'the running man.' "

Another source says Underwood, who is engaged to Ottawa Senators hockey star Mike Fisher, was "very chill."

While Underwood was living it up in Vegas, her fiancé had a boy's night out in Nashville. Fisher and four buddies spent a a low-key night having dinner and drinks at Cabana, a favorite spot of Taylor Swift's.

Fisher celebrated his bachelor party last week in Miami at Mansion with about 15 male friends.

"The guys downed shots of Belvedere and danced on their table as King of Crunk, rapper Lil Jon deejayed," a source told PEOPLE at the time. "Fisher was the most subdued of the group, sitting back and admiring the madness as he nursed one cocktail through much the night."

Ever since she got engaged, Underwood has been fairly relaxed about her upcoming nuptials. "We'll just show up," the country star told PEOPLE at the CMT Music Awards earlier this month. "It's mainly about family and friends and the two of us. So it's going to be good no matter what."
