Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port: New Fight?

Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port: New Fight?

Battle of The Hills girls! The two most arguably drama-free girls from the show -- Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad -- might have gotten themselves into a little cat fight.

Word has it that Whitney has a bone to pick with LC about TV show deals. A source tells Us that "Whitney is upset because she thinks that The City was canceled to make room for Lauren's new reality show. Whitney feels like she got the shaft."

On a recent interview with Chelsea Handler, Whitney sounded like she was just totally over the whole reality TV thing -- but then again the late-night comedian seems to have a cynical effect on people.

Regardless, things aren't going so well for LC on the reality TV front anyway. MTV just cancelled her new series because they said it was too "high brow" for its audience.

Port was a no-show at Lauren's recent birthday bash in Vegas. Guess this is a serious catfight.

Lauren Conrad's Belated Sin City Birthday Bash

Lauren Conrad's Belated Sin City Birthday Bash

Ringing in another year with a belated bash, Lauren Conrad was the center of attention at the Pure Nightclub at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Saturday night (February 12).

The former "Hills" star was on hand to celebrate her 25th birthday with a Sin City fete after actually turning twenty-five on February 1st.

While she avoided tweeting during the soiree, a few days prior to the Las Vegas event Miss Conrad wrote, "Just ordered my birthday cake for my party... Right after leaving the gym... Feels counterproductive."

The party comes shortly after Lauren Conrad was dealt a blow - as MTV decided to drop plans for her new fashion-related reality show with a statement telling: “It was a great attempt but it just didn’t feel like a perfect fit for us now.”

To this, Lauren Conrad responded, "We sold a show to MTV, filmed it and are really proud of the final result. MTV felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life."

MTV Puts The Brakes On Lauren Conrad’s Reality Show

MTV Puts The Brakes On Lauren Conrad’s Reality Show

Ouch. Looks like Lauren Conrad’s new reality show has been canned before the first episode has even aired. Lauren’s new show was going to feature her as she worked on her new fashion line, but MTV has decided to pass – and Lauren is none too happy.

MTV’s head of programming explained the decision:
“We decided not to go ahead with the show. She did do a pilot. There were talks about whether we could somehow manage to put together a special based on that footage but that’s also a big question mark based on her interest in that and the finances.”
It wasn’t anything personal:
We love her! We would love her on our network,” Janollari says. “It was a great attempt but it just didn’t feel like a perfect fit for us now.”
Lauren Conrad fired back at MTV in a statement:
“We sold a show to MTV, filmed it and are really proud of the final result. MTV felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life. We agreed going into the project that this show would be an aspirational one, focusing on my career and my goals and not my personal relationships. We delivered the show that we sold and are sorry MTV didn’t feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it.”

Lauren Conrad Is Elongated in Women’s Health

Lauren Conrad is in Women’s Health Magazine this month and the thing that strikes me most about these pictures is that they have all been VERY elongated (the cover picture is the only one which kept its initial length):  notice how in the top comparison, the Lauren on the right (the magazine one) is a few inches taller (well, longer, check out her feet) than the Lauren on the left (real one), even though their shoulders are alligned and the heads have the same size.

Once again, dear photoshoppers: your work was completely unnecessary. (skinnyvscurvy)

Lauren Conrad Spices Up the Mall of America

The Reality TV star/designer/author signed copies of her books “Sugar and Spice” and “Lauren Conrad Style” at the Best Buy Rotunda inside the Bloomington, Minnesota locale.

Lauren Conrad Gets Fashionable for Women's Health

Lauren Conrad Gets Fashionable for Women's Health

With two new books just released and a TV show in the works, Lauren Conrad has been hard at work as of late.

Amidst her many duties, the former "Hills" star took time to pose for a spread and chat about fashion with Women's Health for their November 2010 issue.

Dishing out numerous tips, LC advised, "Color is one of the most appealing ways to make an outfit more interesting. If you're reluctant, start with small doses (say, shoes or a bag) and work yourself up to a brightly hued top."

With plenty of other helpful ideas offered up in the upcoming Women's Health issue, Miss Conrad also noted, "I like to wear a shrunken blazer or leather jacket with a formal dress. It updates the entire look, making it a bit different from the standard fare." (Hollywood Gossip)

Lauren Conrad Checks In with Chelsea Lately

Lauren Conrad Checks In with Chelsea Lately

Taking a break from her book promotional tour to make a TV appearance, Lauren Conrad was spotted out at E! studios in Los Angeles, CA on Wednesday afternoon (October 13).

The former "Hills" star showed up in a business appropriate grey dress ahead of her appearance on "Chelsea Lately" before later leaving in a playful floral dress and black Chanel handbag.

Aside from promoting her new books, Sugar and Spice and the Lauren Conrad Style Guide, LC is also prepping for her return to the small screen in a new docu-reality show for MTV.

Of the effort, Miss Conrad recently told Teen Vogue, "One of the inspirations for this show is The September Issue. It's going to be filmed more like a documentary. The Hills was shot with three or four cameras; things like entrances and exits were re-shot; and if there were sound issues, we were asked to repeat what we just said. This show is going to have a smaller crew, and they'll just be following us around. It's going to have a rougher feel, but I think the end result is going to be more true."

"The focus will be on really great fits, fabrics, and details. It won't be overly trendy - nothing that's trying too hard," she adds. "I'm very excited about it, but I'm also a little nervous. I'm doing it all on my own this time."

As for Lauren's continued book promotions, the remaining scheduled stops are as follows:

Lauren Conrad: Fiercely Fashionable

Lauren Conrad: Fiercely Fashionable

By Alfa Garcia
By most measures, Lauren Conrad has broken the reality TV star mold. A career that could have ended with drastic plastic surgeries, a trip to jail or public mockery has instead continued with Conrad, 24, positioning herself to become the style icon for ladies in the teen-to-20s age bracket.
After ditching MTV's "The Hills," Conrad released the first of three teen-lit books (the final, "Sugar & Spice," hits stores Tuesday), inspired by her travails on reality TV. Then she put her fashion background to work on a clothing line at Kohl's. Also Tuesday, the Orange County, Calif., native will release "Lauren Conrad: Style," a comprehensive handbook of tips on everything from shopping and makeup to packing for travel and posing for the cameras.
"I think it's really written for anyone who has an interest in style or who is looking to fine-tune their own and learn a few things," says Conrad, speaking from her home in California.
"Lauren Conrad: Style" is a rite of passage into legitimacy for the celebrity, who built her career on MTV's "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County" as well as "The Hills," both series that were popular but largely seen as superficial. Conrad embraced her stint on the shows as opportunities to launch her real love: fashion.
"To be honest, I think a little bit of it was luck," she says. "And I just did things that I loved. Ever since I was young I knew I wanted to work in fashion, and that was just something I stuck with and was very fortunate to have some great opportunities [with]."
It was announced in late September that Conrad will appear in an upcoming MTV reality show, "Lauren Conrad: Fiercely Fashionable," which will focus on the launch of Paper Crown, her new upscale clothing brand.
"I'm doing this on my own, which I've never had the opportunity to do," says Conrad, who adds that her line will offer specialty apparel, a different take from her casual offerings at Kohl's. "I'm also working with a couple of my very good friends who will be in it as well. … It should be really fun."
Shooting has yet to begin on the documentary-style series. Unlike "The Hills," the show will not focus on Conrad's personal life. Nonetheless, interest in the young star continues — so much so that Conrad recently moved 20 minutes outside of Hollywood to escape the paparazzo's eye.
My last house, it was a challenge, because you were getting photographed every day. Now I get to be a little more unseen," she says, withholding the name of her new neighborhood.
Yet despite her attempts at a normal life, Conrad embraces the attention. After all, the public fascination that keeps the cameras flashing also sells books, clothes and TV shows, and Conrad is a master at working the publicity machine, whether through her million-plus followers on Twitter or her two-week tour for both book releases. With her entrepreneurial smarts, it seems Conrad was never bound for the pitfalls of reality TV.
"I think that I knew from the very beginning that television was going to launch my career," she says. "I don't know that it's bad that people know where you came from. I think it's always important to remember that."
